Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Surgical Tech in Palmer, AK to join our perioperative team. The role involves preparing sterile fields, passing instruments, maintaining instrument counts, and assisting with patient positioning during procedures to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will have a surgical technology program completion or equivalent, 0-2 years OR experience, and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Formal education in surgical technology or related field required
• 0-2 years operating room surgical technician experience required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support required (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical cases, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready.
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure proper sterilization, inspection, and assembly of instruments.
• Perform instrument counts and maintain infection prevention practices.
• Assist in patient positioning, draping, and transfer during procedures.
• Restock supplies and maintain readiness of operating rooms for subsequent cases.
