Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room in Palmer, Alaska. This is a 13-week contract position on day shift, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday with 10-hour days and rotating weekday off.

Some call may be required with RTO blackout during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The role involves preparing the OR, maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, and assisting with various procedures across orthopedics, general, spine, vascular, urology, and OB.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Surgical Technologist in OR settings.
• Experience across orthopedics, general surgery, spine, vascular, urology, and OB procedures.
• Robot-assisted surgery experience preferred with DaVinci, Mako, or Globus systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with sterile setup and equipment.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and managing equipment during procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure counts of sponges and supplies to prevent retained items.
• Support room turnover and post-procedure cleanup and restocking.

The role includes assisting with the passing of instruments, fluids, and managing surgical equipment, ensuring the sterile field is maintained, and performing counts of sponges and supplies to prevent retained objects.

Required Experience

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist from a CAAHEP-accredited program or other recognized surgical technology program.
• National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination certification is preferred.
