Prisma Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in patient care before, during, and after surgery. No prior experience is required, with supervision by RNs and the surgical team.

The role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument handling, and adherence to safety standards. Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or military ST training is required, with optional 15 hours of annual continuing education.

Qualifications

• Education – Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Experience – No previous experience required.
• In lieu of – must have 15 hours annually of ST continuing education and possibly grandfathered certification when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures by collecting necessary supplies and instruments.
• Prepares the Operating Room for cases by setting up tables and arranging instruments.
• Assists the surgical team during procedures and maintains aseptic technique.
• Cares for specimens and handles drugs under RN direction.
• Cleans and sterilizes rooms between procedures and at end of day.
• Trains and mentors new team members and supports the department.
