Job summary

Renders care to assigned patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) including assisting with direct patient care activities; preparing and stocking the Operating Room before and after surgery; gathering clean and sterile supplies; setting up sterile instrument fields; maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques.

OR experience is required; graduation from a Surgical Technology program or accredited nursing program is expected; BCLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or an accredited nursing program.
• Operating Room experience is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Renders care under RN direction, assisting with direct patient care activities.
• Prepares and stocks the Operating Room before and after surgery.
• Gathers clean and sterile supplies and sets up sterile instrument fields.
• Maintains aseptic technique and communicates effectively with the team.
• Ensures instrument and supply management and cost containment.
