Job summary

Piedmont is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist during operative procedures, maintaining sterility and supporting the surgeon. The role requires graduating from a surgical technology program or equivalent experience, with BCLS by hire and GED acceptable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology program preferred.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology program required or prior experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures and assist the surgeon.
• Maintain a sterile field and monitor for infection control.
• Work in partnership with licensed staff and under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Provide patient care duties for clients of various ages as directed.

Responsibilities

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Functions in partnership with licensed staff. Performs patient care duties for clients of various age groups under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program Preferred

Work Experience

• Graduate of Surgical Technology program Required
• In lieu of degree prior experience as a Surgical Technologist Required
