Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking an Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join a collaborative obstetric team. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist during procedures, and help ensure compassionate, high-quality newborn care.

The role offers on-call rotation, training, and growth opportunities in a supportive environment. Qualified candidates have a Surgical Technology degree, current BCLS certification, and at least 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program is required.
• Certification in Surgical Technology is required.
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• 2+ years of Surgical Technologist experience is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in line with standards.
• Participates in on-call rotation.
• Operates the sterilizer and other patient care equipment after proper training.
• Contributes to hospital processes and communicates issues to the chain of command.
• Supports updating surgeon preference cards and stocking rooms as needed.
• Aids in improving quality and achieving departmental goals.
• Demonstrates teamwork and professionalism across departments.

What you will do in this role:

• Plans for and scrubs assigned surgical procedures in accordance with AORN, AST, quality, regulatory, and company standards.
• Participates in on-call rotation based on the need of the department.
• Operates the sterilizer and other patient care equipment according to manufacturer's instructions after proper training.
• Promotes hospital processes and goals, and communicates issues, whether actual or potential, to appropriate person in the chain of command.
• Takes initiative in performing other duties, whether assigned or not, such as assisting with updating surgeon preference cards, pulling case carts, stocking rooms, turning-over the OR, and assisting with scheduled supply inventory.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology for Surgical Technologist role is required.
• Certification in Surgical Technology.
• Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• 2 or more years of Surgical Technologist experience is REQUIRED.
