Job summary

AdventHealth in Orange City, Florida, is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to anticipate the surgeon’s needs, assemble supplies, and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures. You will support the team and ensure patient safety in a fast-paced surgical suite.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or successful completion of an approved/accredited Surgical Technology program
• BLS CPR certification required
• State CST certification or NBSTSA CST or NTSC technician certification required
• 1+ years relevant experience preferred; 2+ years technical experience preferred
• Must work well with multiple team members and be able to adapt to a flexible schedule

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse throughout a procedure
• Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure
• Maintains aseptic technique and monitors infection control practices
• Supports satisfaction and communication with physicians, management, and staff; responds to complaints promptly
• Promotes a safe environment and handles emergencies; participates in staff orientation and training
• Directs room turnover and assists with turnover efficiency for the surgical team
