Job summary

Sky Lakes Medical Center in Oregon is seeking an Operating Room Technician with formal training and surgical experience to support anesthesia and surgical teams during procedures. The role focuses on scrubbing, gowning, and gloving, maintaining a sterile environment, and preparing tables and instruments for cases.

Under RN direction, you will assist surgeons, manage surgical supplies, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal OR Technician program and 1 year surgical experience.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Certification in Surgery Technician and Oregon LPN license.

Responsibilities

• Scrub surgical procedures; collaborate with physicians during emergencies.
• Assume scrub duties under RN direction; adhere to OR standards and sterile technique.
• Set up table, instruments and supplies for scheduled operations; assist with patient prep.
• Assist surgeon and anticipate needs, manage instruments, sutures, and supplies.
• Observe patient status and assist with emergency procedures as needed.
• Assist with labeling and handling surgical specimens.
• Maintain confidentiality and OSHA safety compliance.
