Qualifications

• Accredited Surgical Technology program completed.
• 3-5 years of experience as a surgical technician.
• Lead or preceptor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and field with instruments for procedures.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon in a timely manner during procedures.
• Apply aseptic technique and infection control standards.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
• Label and retain specimens for pathology and documentation.
• Transport instruments for decontamination and sterilization.
• Turnover rooms between cases and restock instruments.
• Maintain physician preference cards and assist with updates.
• Orient and train surgical technicians and team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
