Job summary

UVA Health Haymarket Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician Lead to supervise the circulating role in the OR, ensure patient safety, and coordinate with the Sterile Processing Department. The role includes directing technicians, managing schedules, and training staff on equipment use.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of surgical tech experience, CST or Virginia pathway certification, and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment. On-call and travel between facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Lead circulating role in the OR and oversee surgical technician assignments.
• Coordinate with Charge RN to ensure accuracy of surgeon preference cards and training of staff.
• Provide precepting and training for surgical technologists and ensure sterile field is maintained.
