Job summary

Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team on a full-time day shift. The role involves preparing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting the surgeon before, during, and after procedures.

Requirements include post-secondary training or equivalent experience, CPR certification within 90 days of hire, and Medical Tech Registration.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment and instruments on the back table and Mayo stand using sterile technique.
• Performs sponge and sharps counts with the circulating RN.
• Assists surgeon with gowning, gloving, draping and handling supplies and instruments.
• Maintains sterile field and assists with tissue retraction as directed by the surgeon.
• Applies dressing at procedure completion.
• Maintains universal precautions when removing draping material and handling instruments.
