Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking a Surgical Tech III for a part-time Day shift in the Main OR. The role requires proficiency in sterile techniques and working knowledge of instrumentation for specialty procedures, including operating specialty instruments and equipment used in at least one tertiary service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; Successful completion of a Surgical Technology training program or Orlando Health training program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly surgical field and pass instruments and supplies quickly and efficiently to the surgeon.
• Anticipate and prioritize the needs of the procedure steps.
• Participate in sponge, needle and instruments counts as dictated by the procedure.
• Maintain surgical specimens for pathology evaluation.
• Assist in ordering and stocking specialty supplies under department guidelines.
• Serve as a technical expert for at least one tertiary specialty in collaboration with a Registered Nurse.
