Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Orange County, CA, seeks a Surgical Scrub Technician to join the OR team under supervision of RN or Clinical Manager. You will scrub/assist, prepare instruments, maintain equipment, and support surgeons and nurses during procedures.

Requires completion of an accredited scrub tech program, at least two years of experience, BLS certification, and preferred bilingual candidates.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Scrub Technician program or equivalent military medical core training (not required for GI Lab).
• Minimum of two years Surgery Tech/scrub experience, preferably within an ambulatory or acute healthcare environment.
• Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as scrub/assist person, supporting physician and/or RN.
• Maintain instruments, supplies and equipment per manufacturers' instructions and infection prevention standards.
• Identify, gather, and prepare instruments and equipment for procedures in a timely manner.
• Perform sponge, needle and item counts and related equipment checks per policy.
• Decontaminate, clean and care for operating room equipment using sterile techniques.
• May require on-call duty.
• Demonstrate competency across multiple specialties/service lines (e.g., Thoracic, Ortho, Spine, ENT).
• Serve as a preceptor and contribute to staff orientation and cross-training.
