Job summary

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in Florida is seeking a Surgical Tech II for a per diem, rotate-shift role. The technician works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to prepare the Operating Room for assigned surgical cases and to deliver supplies, instrumentation and equipment as requested by the surgeon.

The role requires knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and readiness to support intraoperative needs.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with BLS (American Heart Association)
• Experience in preparing OR for procedures and delivering instruments
• Maintains sterile technique and CPR recertification

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operating Room for the assigned surgical case
• Deliver medical/surgical supplies, instrumentation and equipment as requested by the surgeon
• Operate equipment and instruments in all services
• Maintain the sterile field and set up quickly in an organized fashion
• Open with circulators and assist in turnover after cases
• Label all drugs placed on the field clearly
• Participate in time-out procedures consistently
• Communicate with circulator and verify specimens
