Job summary

UF Health North Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a dedicated Surgical Tech II to assist surgeons in the operating room and provide clinical patient care. This full-time role supports basic instrumentation, sterile technique, and equipment handling in a dynamic perioperative team.

You will work under licensed providers and nurses, participate in safety and infection control, and contribute to efficient case starts and room turnover.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; graduate of surgical technologist program.
• Strong knowledge of patient care and basic human needs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Understanding of perioperative procedures and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques.
• Care for and maintain basic surgical equipment.
• Ensure safe patient care following policies including staffing guidelines and case starts.
• Support room turnover and on-time first case starts.
• Adhere to infection control practices and PPE usage.
• Participate in safety training and continuing education.
