Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; graduate of surgical technologist program.
• Licensure/Certification: NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST within 1 year of hire/transfer; BLS from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under supervision of licensed provider and RN following AORN, AST standards.
• Ensures safe care by following staffing/scheduling guidelines and disaster response.
• Maintains sterile technique and proper handling of instrumentation.
• Prepares supplies and instruments prior to procedures.
• Adheres to infection control practices and organizational policies.
• Participates in safety trainings, PI and QA activities.
