Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Proficient in two services and precept experience in one.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Performs all job functions of a ST I as needed, in addition to ST II duties.
• Assist Level III RN coordinator/Surgical Coordinator and/or educator with inventory, instrumentation, and in-service education.
• Oversees the orientation for new ST I team members and precepts them.
• Maintains instrument sets and ensures proper handling and setup per policy.
• Maintains counts of sponges, needles, and instruments and labels medications as per policy.
• Handles specimens according to OR policies and procedures.
