Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to support the operating room team under the supervision of the RN. You will prepare sterile instruments, scrub, gown, glove, and pass supplies to the surgical team, maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED, 0–2 years of experience, excellent written and verbal communication, and AST certification or eligibility. BLS HCP certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 0–2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office / Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Follows infection control and PPE standards.
• Assists surgical team with scrubbing, gowning, gloving and instrument handling.
• Maintains accurate counts of sponges, needles and instruments; supports the circulator.
