Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles is seeking a Surgical Tech II under the direction of the RN to apply advanced surgical and aseptic techniques. You will assist the surgical team, prepare and sterilize instruments, and support patient safety throughout operative procedures.

The role requires CST certification, BLS, and relevant experience in fast-paced OR settings. You will work with a dynamic team on complex cases and participate in ongoing process improvements within the surgical services

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Completion of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technician Program is required.
• 1 year experience as a Surgical Technician or as a Surgical Technician intern required.
• Surgical Technician intern experience must be paid and completed at Keck Medicine of USC.
• Active practice as a Surgical Technician within the six (6) months prior to application.
• Demonstrates organization/time management skills and excellent verbal/written communication.
• Surgical Technologist CST certification from CAAHEP or ABHES; BLS Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team and handle aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Prepare, sterilize, and clean instruments and equipment.
• Arrange and inventory sterile setup for operations; maintain OR readiness.
• Perform scrub role and pass instruments, cut sutures, and anticipate needs.
• Transport patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens; ensure patient safety.
