Job summary

University of Southern California is seeking a Surgical Tech II who applies advanced surgical and aseptic techniques in a busy operating room. The role supports the surgical team, prepares and sterilizes instruments, and ensures patient safety throughout procedures.

The position requires CST certification, BLS, and active practice as a Surgical Technician, with experience in Head/Neck/Neuro/Spine/Ortho surgeries; the pay includes a differential and LA-area considerations.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technician Program is required.
• 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician is required.
• Active practice as a Surgical Technician within the last 6 months is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team and perform tasks in the operating room.
• Prepare, sterilize, and clean surgical equipment and instruments.
• Maintain aseptic technique and participate in intraoperative crises.
• Arrange and inventory sterile setup and update preference cards.
• Perform scrub role and pass instruments during procedures.
• Mentor or lead other surgical technicians as needed.
