Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist. You will support surgeons and the operating room team by preparing the OR, setting up sterile supplies, transporting patients, and handing instruments during procedures.

This 40-hour role features rotating 5x8 shifts onsite at 2014 Washington Street; candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and BLS credentials are preferred with NBSTSA consideration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS Certification is preferred; CST and NBSTSA credentials preferred.
• Experience in a surgical setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment required for the surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning on the surgical table, and ensure their safety and comfort during the procedure.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow proper sterilization techniques to ensure the cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Maintain documentation of surgical procedures including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other team members.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site with sterile drapes and solutions.
• Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed.
