Job summary

MUHA/Medical University Hospital Authority affiliated MUSC Health in Columbia seeks a Certified Surgical Tech I to prepare sterile supplies, assist in the OR, and collaborate with the operating room team to care for patients and families.

Requirements include CST credential, BLS, and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program; <6 months OR experience preferred. Equal opportunity employer. Sign-on bonus of $10,000.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential (former LCC-ST) preferred; new grads must certify within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 weeks of hire; current BLS for Healthcare Providers is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Perform room duties with direct patient care as part of the operating room team.
• Demonstrate knowledge to provide care appropriate to patient developmental level and family needs.

Education

High school diploma

Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program
