Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital in Temecula, CA is hiring an Operating Room Technician to support surgical services across multiple procedures. You will anticipate surgeon needs, maintain sterile fields, and prepare instruments and supplies for a range of operations.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of OR experience, graduation from an accredited OR tech program, and current BLS certification. National Surgical Technician certification is recommended.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year recent operating room experience as a Surgical Tech. This year may include time spent as a student in an Acute Care setting, and/or time spent in an accredited Operating Room Technician program.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Graduated from an accredited Operating Room Technician Program
• National Surgical Technician certification recommended
• Current BLS (AHA) certification

Responsibilities

• The Operating Room Technician demonstrates knowledge of the step-by-step progress of specific surgical procedures for all surgical services. Anticipates surgeon's needs in regards to instrumentation, sutures, sponges, supplies, etc. Displays dexterity in the use of the required instrumentation according to technique, procedure and special requirements. Demonstrates ability to function in intra-operative situations requiring in-depth technical expertise and knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Anticipates instrumentation/equipment for a wide range of simple and complex surgical procedures. Pulls appropriate instrumentation, sutures, sponges, and supplies consistent with surgeon's preference. Surgical environment is set up and organized prior to patient's arrival into room.
