Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of surgery experience in at least two specialty areas preferred.

• Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
• Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
• Strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in surgical operations under the guidance of surgeons, RNs, or OR staff.
• Performs scrub activities and prepares medications for procedures.
• Prepares and knows uses of equipment, instrumentation and supplies for procedures.
• Maintains sterile fields and adheres to aseptic technique.
• Follows hospital policies, confidentiality, and safety guidelines.
