Job summary

Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Surgical Tech First Assistant to support the operating surgeon in the OR. You will assist with wound exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling and suturing as part of the perioperative team.

This role requires CSFA/CSA/SAC certification and at least three years of relevant experience; BLS is required before orientation. The position offers varied shifts with evening and night differentials and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CSFA/CSA/SAC certification required or in progress
• BLS required prior to orientation
• Recent accredited surgical technologist program completion or equivalent training

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in OR with wound exposure and hemostasis
• Handle tissues and surgical instruments including suturing
• Support perioperative team to ensure safe patient care during surgery
• Maintain sterile techniques and assist with wound closure as directed
