Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Surgical Tech First Assistant to support the operating surgeon in the OR. You will assist with wound exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling and suturing as part of the perioperative team.
This role requires CSFA/CSA/SAC certification and at least three years of relevant experience; BLS is required before orientation. The position offers varied shifts with evening and night differentials and a comprehensive benefits package.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of this job is to assist the operating surgeon by providing direct patient care as part of a perioperative (operating room) team, in performing activities such as providing wound exposure, maintaining hemostasis, manipulating tissues with surgical instrumentation (e.g. suturing, wound closure) and other related tasks. These tasks will assist the surgeon in performing optimal care to a patient during surgery. Work is performed under the direction of an operating surgeon and within scope of practice
