Job summary

East Georgia Regional Medical Center (EGRMC) in Statesboro, GA is seeking a Surgical Technician First Assist to support surgeons during procedures. The role involves maintaining sterile field, supplying instruments, positioning patients, and assisting in critical tasks for optimal patient outcomes.

Requires CST certification and surgical experience. The position is full-time, 7 am–5:30 pm, with 4 ten-hour shifts and on-call obligations.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or First Assist in an acute care setting required.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required.
• CSFA - Certified Surgical First Assistant or CSA - Certified Surgical Assistant required

Responsibilities

• Serves as scrub person during procedures, maintaining sterile field and supplying instruments.
• Perform first assistant duties including exposure, tissue handling, suctioning, and sponging as directed by the surgeon.
• Dissects tissues, controls bleeding, places drains, and assists with wound closure as instructed.
• Ensure sterility and safety standards, perform infection control procedures, and assist in post-procedure turnover.
