Job summary

East Georgia Regional Medical Center, LLC is seeking a qualified Surgical Technician – Certified to join its operating room team in Georgia. You will prepare sterile fields, anticipate surgeon needs, and maintain instrument inventory to support safe and efficient procedures.

The position requires CST certification with BLS, and 0–2 years of OR experience. You will collaborate with the perioperative team and uphold infection control standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room by ensuring surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are properly set up.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and passes instruments and supplies efficiently.
• Handles surgical instruments and equipment according to policy and sterilization standards.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts to support patient safety.
• Assists with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Supports maintenance of physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
• Restocks supplies and prepares rooms for subsequent cases to ensure OR efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
