CHS Career Site in Statesboro, GA is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support the operating room team. The role prepares the sterile field, anticipates surgeon needs, and ensures proper handling of instruments and supplies.

The Surgical Technician—Certified also supports OR efficiency through equipment readiness and infection prevention adherence. Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, counts, patient positioning and draping, inventory management, and room turnover.

Competenze

• Technical School or accredited program in Surgical Technology.
• Associate degree may be preferred; CST certification may be required.
• 0–2 years OR experience desired or equivalent training.

Mansioni

• Prepares OR by ensuring instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready.
• Maintains sterile field and adheres to aseptic technique.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments accurately during procedures.
• Handles instruments per policy, including cleaning and sterilization.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the team.
• Assists with patient positioning and draping for procedures.
• Maintains physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
• Restocks supplies and prepares rooms for next cases.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
