Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant to join our operating room team in Kalamazoo. You will partner with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff to deliver safe, efficient surgical care for diverse patients.

The role requires completion of a accredited technologist program, certification, and BLS. Aims include maintaining sterile fields and supporting optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist First Assistant program
• BLS certification (required by completion of core orientation).
• Demonstrated competency in most surgical procedures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist as the Surgical Technologist First Assistant in surgeries.
• Collaborate with surgeons, RN Circulator, and anesthesia team to ensure safety.
• Prepare, maintain, and organize sterile fields and equipment for procedures.
• Provide patient-centered care and protect patient privacy and dignity.
