Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist to join the OR team. You will support surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to provide safe, efficient surgical care for patients across all ages.

The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure. Responsibilities include assisting in procedures as a first assistant, maintaining the sterile field, and ensuring supplies and equipment are ready for cases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist First Assistant program.
• BLS certification required by core orientation.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills the role as first assistant on surgical procedures.
• Operates under supervision of surgeon and OR team to provide exposure and assist with tissue handling.
• Assist in positioning, prep, and maintenance of sterile field during procedures.
• Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for scheduled cases.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development and maintenance of certification requirements.
