Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, MA seeks a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. The role involves preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and medications, and assisting during procedures to maintain sterile technique and patient safety.

The candidate should be certified as a Surgical Technologist with BLS, have strong organization and communication skills, and ideally possess hospital-based experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Certification is required.
• Surgical Technologist certification required.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program.
• Well organized with a high degree of manual dexterity.
• 3 years of hospital-based surgical service experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Check supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies and medications/solutions for surgery.
• Perform counts with circulator before incision and before closure.
