Job summary

Valley Health System in Ridgewood, NJ, seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and RNs during operations and provide safe, competent care to diverse patients. The role includes cleaning and processing equipment for turnover and supporting specialty instruments, trays, and MD requests.

Candidates should have a formal Surgical Technology program and NBSTSA certification; CPR is required, with 2+ years experience preferred or completion of an accredited internship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• NBSTSA certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience preferred or completion of a formal internship through an accredited Surgical Technology Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and registered nurses by performing routine, technical, and related duties during surgical operations.
• Provide safe and competent care to patients across all ages.
• Handle daily cleaning and processing of equipment, ensuring turnover between cases and decontamination of instruments.
• Serve as the resource for assigned specialty including tray inventory, maintenance of specialty instruments, supplies, and MD requests.
