Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO is seeking a Medical Surgical Technician to support operating room procedures. The role requires setup, labeling, and preparation of instruments, solutions and equipment for surgeries, while ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.

Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, maintaining sterile fields, and proper specimen handling. Candidates should have a surgical technician program completion and BLS certification; this is a day-shift, full-time position

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Experience in a surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Prepares and labels solutions and medications used, reporting amounts for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon’s preference card.
• Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the surgeon, nurses, and/or anesthesiologist.
• Holds retractors or instruments, sponges or suctions operative site, applies electrocautery to clamps on bleeders, cuts suture material, connects drains to suction apparatus, and applies dressings to a wound.
