Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Surgical Technician Associate to prepare the operating room and support the surgical team across a range of procedures. You will set up equipment, assist the team, and maintain a sterile environment to aid patient recovery.

The role requires adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical operations. Education benefits may be available for eligible staff after qualification period.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Completion of surgical technologist program or a minimum of 6 months of surgical technologist experience.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assists circulating nurses in set up of surgical procedure according to physician preference, standards of care and hospital protocol.
• Handles laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.
• Assists the Surgeon during procedures as requested. Retrieves equipment and supplies as necessary.
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation.
• Participates in data collection and updates records as needed.
