Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist in Gilbert, Arizona, to support the Surgery department at Banner Gateway Medical Center. The role involves scrubbing, passing instruments, and assisting in multiple specialties within a Magnet-recognized health system.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED and current BLS certification.
• Certified surgical technologist OR 2–3 years of experience in a surgical technologist role.
• Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency.
• Ability to stay conscientious, organized and respond quickly to needs.
• Willingness to work varied shifts and adapt to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures and pulls appropriate instruments.
• Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures and supplies.
• Participates in or leads training of staff and students.
• Scrubs on a minimum of two surgical specialties.
• Assists with OR turnover, stocking and cleaning operating rooms.
• Follows safety procedures for labeling, handling specimens, sharps, and time-out procedures.
