Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health's Care Center in Danvers, MA is hiring a Surgical Technologist 1 to support asepsis and intraoperative patient care. You will prepare instruments, assist the circulating nurse, and maintain the sterile field for pediatric to geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience.
• 0–1 year of experience required.
• Certification obtained within one year of completing the program.

Responsibilities

• Review procedure cards and surgeon preference cards to prepare for each surgery.
• Assist and collaborate with circulating nurse to set up procedures and instruments.
• Pass instruments and retract for the surgeon at the sterile field as directed.
• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Care for cleaning and maintenance of instruments and supplies per guidelines.
• Assist with inventory management of operating room supplies and storerooms.
• Support patient transport and manipulations of equipment as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Participate in WHO Checklist compliance and safety initiatives.
• Engage in on-call rotation for specified nights and weekends.
