North Atlantic Surgical Suites in Salem, NH is seeking a full-time Surgical Tech First Assistant to support surgeons during procedures. The role involves arranging and handing over tools, holding incisions, and dressing surgical wounds.

No weekends, no major holidays, and no on-call required. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Surgical Technician Program, NBSTSA Surgical First Assistant Certification, and two years of orthopedic SFA experience or an equivalent

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program.

• Two years of SFA experience in orthopedic settings.
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to OR procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons by arranging and handing over tools.
• Hold open incisions and dress surgical wounds.
• Prepare and coordinate instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Support patient safety and sterile technique in the OR.

Conveniently located in Salem New Hampshire, the state-of-the-art facility was created by leading-edge surgeons from Boston area Hospitals to provide the best possible patient experience. SPECIALTIES:

• Total Hip and Knee Replacement
• Surgeries of the Lumbar and Cervical Spine including Kyphoplasty & Vertebroplasty

Job Summary: A Surgical First assistant plays a vital role in a successful surgical procedure. They are primarily in charge of assisting surgeons, such as by arranging and handing over tools, holding open incisions, and dressing surgical wounds. No Weekends, No Major Holidays & No Call Required.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma / GED
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program.
• NBSTSA Surgical First Assistant Certification required.
• Two years of Certified Surgical First Assistant experience in an orthopedic setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other skills and abilities: General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures in an operating room.
