Job summary

CHI Health Lakeside in Omaha, NE seeks a Surgical Tech to support the OR team. You will set up equipment, maintain sterile fields, and assist surgeons in a variety of procedures with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Requirements: graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS; certification preferred. Open to certified or non-certified Techs who completed a program.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs that have completed a Surgical Tech education program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• Prepares sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient.
• Anticipates events during the procedure and responds efficiently.
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to policy.
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of staff and students.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

Duties include

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students

Job Requirements

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Certification in Surgical Technology preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs that have completed a Surgical Tech education program (Pay will differ per position)
