Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Grand Island, NE is seeking a Surgical Tech to help prepare the operating room and surgical team for a range of procedures. You will set up equipment, maintain sterile fields, and assist the team, contributing to the patient's healing process.

Daily duties include handling instruments, supporting the OR team, and ensuring safety. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS are required; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and equipment for procedures and ensure sterility.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Up to $10,000 Sign on Bonus Available

Up to $7,000 in Education Assistance Available

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

Duties include

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students

Job Requirements

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Certification in Surgical Technology preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs that have completed a Surgical Tech education program (Pay will differ per position)
