Job summary

CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, NE is hiring a Surgical Tech to support the operating room team. You will set up equipment, assist the surgical team, and maintain a sterile environment to help patient healing.

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required; BLS is required; certification preferred. Sign-on bonus and education assistance are available. This on-site role offers competitive wages and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs that have completed a Surgical Tech education program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure.
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner.
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure.

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient\'s healing process.

Duties include

• Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
• Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
• Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
• Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
• Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
• Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students

Job Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Certification in Surgical Technology preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Open to hiring Certified or Non-Certified Surgical Techs that have completed a Surgical Tech education program (Pay will differ per position)

Pay Range

$25.42 - $37.82 /hour
