Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center- Dallas is seeking a Surgical Support Technician to ensure smooth operations in surgical areas. Responsibilities include preparing rooms, turnover, and ensuring supplies are stocked for procedures.

The role requires HS diploma or GED, less than one year of experience, and BLS certification or eligibility within 30 days. On-site position with full-time hours and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare spaces before surgeries and manage turnover after, ensuring necessary supplies are available.
• Transport patients, lab samples, and supplies as needed.
• Monitor and restock inventory to maintain supplies in different areas.
• Check case carts and restock according to doctor preferences.
• Open sterile supplies for procedures under clinician supervision.
• Assist with sterilization checks and instrument set preparation for cases.
• Respond to emergencies following established procedures and on-call duties.
• Retractos may be used by pre-September 1, 2009 hires; no program completion required.
