Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technician to ensure equipment and supplies are ready for day-of-surgery. The role involves coordinating implants and instruments, maintaining readiness, and supporting the surgeon and OR staff with quality care.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of operating room experience, BLS certification, and either a high school diploma with Surgical Tech training or related credentials.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; Surgical Tech program preferred.
• 3 years operating room experience required; 5 years preferred.
• BLS certification required; Surgical Tech certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient scheduling and instrument/implantable device readiness for surgery.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills and credentials.
• Provide direct patient care and communicate needs to care team.
• Assist surgeons and teams with implantable devices and instruments.
• Adapt to department changes due to census, acuity, and resources.
