You must have a High School Diploma or GED, NBSTSA certification within four months, and BLS. CEU requirements and sterile-field standards are part of daily practice.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA Surgical Technologist certification within four months of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Ability to resource advanced technology.
• Requires 15 continuing education units annually as per state law.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs within 12 months.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Strict adherence to sterile field policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with equipment, supplies, and instrumentation before procedures.
• Assist the surgeon during operations as allowed by professional standards.
• Assist in turnover and processing of specimens, equipment, and supplies after procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical staff.

This is a part time, day shift role working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No weekends or holidays required.

Surgical Skilled Technologists provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. Assists in ensuring the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies and instrumentation in the operating room prior to each operation. Provides assistance to the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by professional and legal standards. Assists in the turnover of the operating room after the procedure ensuring proper routing and/or processing of all specimens, equipment, instrumentation and supplies. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel.
