Job summary

University of California, Irvine is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to manage daily medical and surgical supplies in the Surgical Service and GI departments. You will partner with the OR Materials Supervisor and surgical staff to ensure availability and timely replenishment of critical items.

The role requires at least 3 years in a hospital supply chain, proficiency with inventory systems, and strong communication with physicians and nurses to resolve supply deficiencies promptly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a hospital supply chain department.
• Knowledge of automated inventory control systems.
• Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to maintain a workload-paced work rhythm.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across the health system.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily medical and surgical supply in the Surgical Service and GI departments.
• Assist Lead Surgical Tech with equipment repair or service needs.
• Research special equipment and supply needs.
• Perform weekly inventory cycle counts and semiannual inventories.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical service director, physicians, circulating nurses, and surgical technicians about supply deficiencies.
• Review daily surgical schedule with department schedulers for special supply needs.
