Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Perdiem Scheduler to support the Surgical Services Department in coordinating a cost-effective schedule. This role assists with arranging equipment, supplies and services to meet daily demand.

The ideal candidate has at least two years in a hospital or medical setting, strong data entry skills, and fluent English. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of hospital/medical field experience with data entry.
  • Fluent in English and able to read/understand instructions.
  • Proficient with Windows-based software (word processing, databases, spreadsheets).
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain an efficient, cost‑effective surgical schedule.
  • Assist with coordinating requested equipment, supplies and services.
  • Support daily Surgical Services department operations and communication.

JOB SUMMARY

Supports the needs of the Surgical Services Department by coordinating and maintaining an efficient and cost-effective surgical schedule. The Surgical Services Scheduler assists with coordinating requested equipment, supplies and services.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Two years of experience in a hospital or medical related field with use of computers and data entry functions.
Language Skills
  • Fluent in English
Preferred Requirements
  • Two to four years of experience in a hospital or medical related field with advanced knowledge of computers and data entry functions
Knowledge, Skills And Ability Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology to include CPT codes and ICD codes
  • Accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation skills necessary
  • Proficient computer skills to include working knowledge of Windows based software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and has excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers.
  • Ability to work in stressful environment and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities.
