Job summary

Knoxville Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Surgical Services Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift with no on-call, weekends or holidays. You will plan, direct and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients through pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.

Responsibilities include supervising care, maintaining aseptic technique, documenting events and medications, and ensuring a safe, efficient surgical schedule. Iowa RN licensure and ACLS/BCLS as applicable are required to qualify.

Qualifications

• RN license in Iowa and nursing degree required
• ACLS/CPR/BCLS certification preferred or within 1 year of hire
• Excellent communication and professional standards expected
• Must read/write clearly and follow written/verbal instructions

Responsibilities

• Supervises patient care in pre-, intra-, and post-operative settings
• Maintains aseptic technique and infection control per standards
• Performs circulating, scrub, and recovery nursing as assigned
• Documents times, events, medications, patient changes, etc.
• Prepares, sterilizes, and handles instruments; maintains supplies
• Ensures safety and clean environment; reports incidents promptly
• Coordinates with charge personnel and assists in administrative duties
