Job summary

Avita Health System in Ontario seeks a Surgical Scrub Technician to support the Surgery Department. You will assist the surgeon during procedures, prepare the operating room, and ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Preferred: Operating Room Technician certification.
• Preferred: LPN license.
• Preferred: 1 year of work experience in the Operating Room.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during operative and invasive procedures.
• Prepare operating suite for procedures.
• Monitor PAR level of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Clean and sterilize all surgical instruments.
• Participate in staffing meetings and performance improvement activities.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

BLS Certification

Operating Room Technician certification

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

Position Overview

Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitor PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS Certification.

Preferred:

• Certified as Operating Room Technician.
• Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• One (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room;

Two 8 hour shifts per week. M-F Variable days. On call obligation.
32 hours per pay.
