Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is hiring an OR Scrub Technician to join our Perioperative team. You will scrub on surgical procedures across specialties, set up cases, maintain a sterile field, and assist with instrument care, counts, and supplies.

You must understand aseptic technique, follow OSHA and infection control policies, and be able to interpret verbal and written instructions. Hospital experience in surgical services is preferred; CST is optional but BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; hospital experience in surgical services preferred.
• CST preferred; BLS required.
• Completion of a certified technician program or acceptable on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on surgical procedures across all specialties in the Perioperative area.
• Set up assigned cases, maintain a sterile field, and perform counts with the circulating nurse.
• Care for instruments, supplies, sutures, needles, and basic equipment; stocking, cleaning and inventory.
