Job summary

The Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a Certified Scrub Technologist to support the sterile field during surgical procedures. This role operates under the RN, Clinical Coordinator, Unit Manager and Director to maintain aseptic technique and patient safety throughout operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining the sterile field, counting sponges and instruments, assisting the surgeon as needed, handling specimens, and following universal precautions.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited scrub technologist program.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• CST certification required.
• Knowledge of sterile technique required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
• Prevent contamination of the field by strict aseptic technique.
• Follow universal precautions to protect patient and staff.
• Participate in sponge, sharps, and instrument counts as prescribed.
• Assist surgeon as needed and anticipate instrument requests.
• Receive and transfer medications and prescriptive items on the sterile field under supervision.
• Prepare specimens for pathology; knowledge of instrumentation maintained at an expert level.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
